This is Patrick’s first year as an AmeriCorps member and programs liaison at YAC.
He moved here from Worcester, MA, after attending undergraduate school at Fairfield University in CT. There he studied psychology and French, as well as a bit of philosophy. Patrick is also a musician, and just wrapped up a summer of writing and recording his own music, which was infinitely better than his previous summer of working as a mover in the intense heat. His favorite piece of music ever written is undoubtedly Beethoven’s 9th symphony.
Patrick’s role at YAC is to be a presence both in the office and at each program, and to design and implement Unity Events that will occur throughout the year. He is excited so far to be planning a performance project led by youth from Springfield, a trip to MassMoca, and an open mic/art share night. YAC inspires Patrick through its abilities to encourage youth to explore social justice and creativity at an age when he was still picking his nose. If he won the lottery tomorrow, Patrick would move to France and record an album. Artistically he is most inspired by passion for life, and living for passion.
