If you have participated in one of the YAC programs as a youth, and are currently 18 or older, we would like to invite you to participate in a study by Donna Lopp, a graduate student at UMass. Donna would like to find out your perspectives on how being involved in YAC has benefited you and your communities.
Here is her message:
I am doing a study to learn more about the relationship between participation in arts programs and self-esteem, identity, and perceived academic achievement. I want to know what being in programs like Youth Action Coalition means to you. How does it affect your life? Do you feel that it has helped you academically? My goal with this study is to increase appreciation and support for arts programming. I am looking to interview people 18 + years old who have been directly involved in YAC. The interviews will probably be about 45 minutes each, and I’d like to meet about three times with each person.
